I swallow oysters like prayers,
these fanatical tongues:
one by one, in
ecstasy of martyrdom,
they file down my throat.

soaked in acid (like some
surrealist baptism)
they gasp to fill
their spongy lungs:

my insides are coated
with the pink
of their corpses.
this is far too close to my last few poems for comfort. perhaps I shall try to combine them into parts of one poem, once I weed out the repetitive "pills" imagery...
